I'm absolutely heartbroken. The man who I looked up to for all of my knowledge on herps has moved out and I went to check his area to make sure he didn't leave anything and HIS SNAKES are still here! I have to make sure it wasn't planned before I really lose it but if he abandoned them...I'll lose my mind.

Maybe he could not take them along and felt that he left them with a very capable understudy. Quite a compliment.

Are you sure he didn't arrange to have them moved later? With a large collection I would want to get a few racks or enclosures up and running before bringing over the animals, to make sure there's not a problem once they arrive.

If nothing else, a good snake person has too much invested in the equipment to just leave it all behind. It also does result in legal trouble.

So was he a tenant? A roommate? Or what? If his lease has run out and he's left property behind then the landlord has to go through legal channels before disposing of anything other than trash.

Basically he's a good friend and became homeless so we took him under our roof so roomie
