Live or f/t? Rat or mouse?

Share your opinions on which ones you think are better! Give reasons why. I have mixed opinions but I think live mice are better when the snake is young because it will be eating younger mice that haven't developed fully, and therefore are less likely to cause harm to your snake, plus the snake can enjoy the excitement of the hunt instead of having it dangled in front of his face. But when the snake is older I think f/t rats are better because they are more nutritious, but they can be more dangerous to your snake if they were live. What do you think?

There are countless threads on this.

Re: Live or f/t? Rat or mouse?

I prefer rats because they get bigger then mice, and when you're snake gets bigger you're going to have to feed it 2-3 mice at a time to fill it up meaning more money to spend and rats you would only need one that is the right size. I also prefer to feed frozen but it's impossible to feed all my snakes f/t since some wont even pay attention to it they just don't care for f/t for instance my pinstripe I would dangle a dead rat in front of it and it would not even look at it I put a live and she quickly eats it .it's just good to teach them too eat rats since their baby's

Whatever works is what is best for YOUR snake.

The rest is about being knowledgeable and responsible regardless of the option chosen.
