    copper treated tank

    Hello Everyone!

I'm new here not so new to snakes but haven't owned a snake in over 10 years up until recently. A friend gave me a baby female Piebald ball python. She is just so beautiful only has marking on her head and tip of her tail the rest white. My friend got her from Dale Porcher in FL.

My question is I have a 40 breeder tank and I'm thinking of using is when my snake get bigger. However it used to be a quarantine tank for my salt water fish. The tank has been treated with copper and I wasn't sure if this would be safe for for my snake. Anyone have info if this would be an issue? I can cut the silicone out and resilicone it if it is.

    Thanks so much!

It wouldnt hurt to cut the silicone and wash it real good and re apply the silicone. Im not a snake expert but it ideally would be the same as starting with a new enclosure.
