    Bittersweet babies

Well the last 3 eggs are done hatching, and there's some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that the possible lesser bee did not make it out of the egg . The little guy was about half out of the egg last night, and when I checked in today the poor thing had died. Upon closer inspection it looks like it was pretty swollen and kinked all throughout it's lower half. I'm not sure if there was anything I could have done, but I didn't know to expect any problems since it seemed fine last night. I suppose these things happen, even if they are very upsetting...

Then there's the second little normal that crawled out of the egg. With the first half of this clutch, I had been thinking the lesser that weighed in at 60 grams was a tiny thing, but this little guy weighed in at a measly 34 grams. The nub from the umbilical cord doesn't look like it's healed very well, and I'm a little worried about the tiny thing. I tried to get a good picture of the umbilical cord, but he didn't want to cooperate very well and I wasn't about to try and force it into a good position. Before anyone asks, I only moved them after they were totally out and away from their eggs and there didn't look to be any yolk left in any of the eggs.

I do like how both of these normals have really cool patterns. If anyone has seen the post I made about the other 4 babies, I am just over the moon about how they came out looking. I thought I'd be a little less excited about the normals, but these guys look way awesome. The last baby is a fat one, and I'm almost as worried about that as the super tiny one. I hope these guys heal up and shed out well, because I can't help but get attached.

I don't know if the problems with these 3 was due to the incubator, but there was only a 2 or 3 degree difference between the bottom tub and the top one, and none of the top four eggs seemed to have any problems? If anyone has any advice about what I should do to give these two the best chance possible, I'd be glad to hear it!

They are both beautiful, the bottom one looks swollen to me though. [I am not an expert, so don't quote me on that]

I hope the best for them, and keep us updated!
