Whistling sound
My snake is making a whistling sound every few seconds when I'm holding him. Any ideas what it could be?

Re: Whistling sound
I had an old thread on this same topic. My female was doing the same thing after a couple days after she shed and the answers I got where that a little piece of shed had gotten stuck in her nose causing the whistling. Has he recently shed? Do you see any bubbles or mucus around his mouth?

Could be loose shed on his nose or it could be like my snake and she just whistles for no reason. She's been doing it for three years now... You do want to make sure that there's no bubbles coming out of his nose or mouth. Those are sure signs of a respiratory infection.

Usually, two possibilities with that.
#1 - Respiratory infection. What's the husbandry like with your enclosure, temps, humidity, etc?
#2 - Just gets excited when held. Some BPs do that. Doesn't necessarily mean the same thing, but you could equate it to a dog wagging its tail.
Have you noticed the whistling sound any times other than when you're holding your critter?

Ok keep us updated. I would hold off handling or feeding him for about a week so it helps him get used to his new home.
