didnt wanna make a new topic, save the bandwith!
Anyways, I came home from school today, look into Cali's hide and I see a piece of shed stickin out at me! I was so excited because this was her first shed in my hands. Any ways, i took her out to look at her. there where bits a pieces all over the front of her body, so i warmed up the sink and ploped her in there for a while. I gently rubed off the extra pieces of skin. When I took her out and examined her to see if i missed any spots, I realized that only the front half of her body had shed! Distraught, I dryed her off and put her back in the cage. The back half of skin from her body has not shed yet! is this ok? should i just wait a couple more days to see if it will come off, (I have a feeling this is what i should do) or keep rubbing? In a shed, isnt the skin supose to come off all at one time? I feel really bad, what should i do?

    Thanks

It takes anywhere from 2 to 5 or even more days after the eyes clear up until a snake will shed. What is your humidity like now?

Compadres, it is imperative that we crush the freedom fighters before the start of the rainy season. And remember, a shiny new donkey for whomever brings me the head of Colonel Montoya.

The first shed can often be a bad once, since it is rather dependant on the previous care. I"m not sure exactly what to tell you, since I don't know if you caught your snake in the middle of trying to get the last bit of shed off. How long did you soak her?

What is your humidity like now? You will want to keep it high, and keep an eye on her. You can soak her again tomorrow if you wanted to and let her slither through a towel in your hands.

the humidity is around 77-82. I do not no for sure if this is accurate because I am using a dial, not a digital.

Hmm, looking into her hide now she doenst seem to be doing anything, just curled up in a ball. I will check in the morning. If it doenst come off by then, i will soak her, and let her slither through the towel, ( thanks led)
