    Co-Dom Ball Pythong Morphs

Hi guys, I am new to breeding ball pythons, I have two normals that just laid eggs and I would like to expand. I want to start out with simpler morphs like the Spider, Pinstripe, and Pastels. I was hoping you guys could give me some other Co-Dom morphs. I was also wondering if someone could tell me how to produce a granite or how much they go for? I use to have one, but she was allergic to the red dye in some of the sub-straight we used and then got an affection that spread. I know that granites can make some really cool morphs so of course I want one.

I don't know much about the granite but I do know that the pinstripe and spider morphs are not co-dom. The spider in an unproven dominate and the pinstripe is a dominate. A pastel is a co-dom though. Other co-doms like the BEL complex is a good place to start. I have yet to meet a person who is not in love with a perfectly white snake. Or you could go for something like a puma, which is a spark/yellow belly, or an Ivory which is the super of two yellow bellies. It is up to you. You can use BHB Reptile Genetics Wizard where they have all the snake morphs broken up into dominate, recessive, co-dom etc.

I'm mainly looking for snakes that I can breed to a normal and still get cool morphs. Mainly just because she is of breeding age right now and I know you have to wait till the snakes are of breeding age for their safety. I don't want to risk the snakes health. So the next question would be what morphs when paired with a normal would produce more morphs?

The you probably want co-dom as 50% will come out normals and the other 50% will come out co-dom. You could get a super too. If you had a super pastel, 100% all of them will be pastels otherwise you probably want to get something with more then one gene in it to really make up the difference though. Something like a queenbee. The problem I am finding right now with normals (even pastels, lessers and spiders) is not many people want them and people are having a harder time selling them. The snake breeding business is kind of crowded. Seems like everyone who gets one needs to get the other gender and try it out... I am no different. Normals, spiders, pastels and lessers are one of the easiest morphs to get a hold of so are a little harder to sell. I am not saying a queenbee will stop you from getting normals BUT it will heighten your chance for more morphs and less normals.

Okay cool, so supers are really the way to go. Unfortunately where I live there are only two pets tors and they are PetsMart and Petco. I can only really get whatever they get in, especially because they have no idea how to properly price them and are WAY cheep. They usually only get in Butter Pastels, Spiders, and Pinstripes.

I would recommend you go to a breeder. They will have a super for you somewhere in their collection and they have healthier better looking snakes. There are breeders everywhere and there is also online as well if you are willing to pay for shipping, which in the long run will pay for itself if you get a good morph. Pet stores really should be avoided but ultimately it is your choice. I have no clue of any breeders in you area, of course I don't know where you are located, but if you are in Canada I can give some recommendations.

Greenville, NC. And the butter platies that Petsmart gets here come from the original breeder of them. I don't know about there spiders, pieds, or pinstripes.

Okay so, I really do not know about any breeder there, but after a google search there is a breeder in Gate, NC which by google maps is about 1:30 hrs from you... sorry if I am wrong, I have never left Canada so I really do not know. Maybe I really should not say anything because my info may be wrong but I want to help. The breeder is called American Made Exotcis. They seem to be well liked but again I am not too sure.

    Here is their FB page

    https://www.facebook.com/ShiffyAME

    And their webstie
