PVC cage fromm PVCCages?
I'm looking into getting a cage for future use, however, being a college student I'm kind of on a budget. That rules out Vision and AP on the spot. However, I have looked into PVCCages and ConstrictorsNW. So far I like both of them, but am leaning towards PVCCages. I like how they will add on the things for you (light, RHP, etc.) however, I'm kind of nervous/curious on the type of RHP they install. For those of you who have the PVCCages, did you opt to get your own RHP or did you get it included? I'd love to go the cheaper route for RHP, have it either built in or RBI, but Pro Products comes with a 'certification'. I've never owned a cage/rack/etc. so I'm just worried about the apartment being burned down when I come back to it haha. So what's your take on this? Should I opt to get RHP from PVCCages or should I get it from another source?

Hi,
I just did a thread here: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...Pro-Line-cages
Not sure if you saw that I answered your question there or not.
As far as budget goes, AP has a sale on some of there caging that is about the best deal around.
I prefer my Pro-Lines, but if they ever close shop I'll be grabbing AP cages.
There are a lot of folks here who have them and I believe the PVC is much thicker than the type used at "PVC Cages". Not 100% sure on that however.

I have my GTP in a PVCCage.com cage and absolutely love it! It is incredibly well made. I got the RHP and a light added to the order. I am very happy with the entire thing and my GTP is doing very well in it.
I had in preassembled and it arrived in short order ready to go. I have no had one issue and don't believe I ever will.
I would like to add a ETB to my collection and I will be getting another PVC Cage for it.

Do you know what kind of RHP was used in it? And they all have sliding glass doors right? That's one thing that attracts me the most, the sliding glass doors opposed to the one large hinge door. Makes it easier to spot clean or feed without having to keep an eye on the snake(s) in them all the time.

Oh and I don't mean to double post, but I do have another question that's regarding thermostats. Can the VE 300 be used for a enclosure like the ones mentioned and a rack together? What about 2 enclosures and a rack? Or would I need a separate one?

I believe you can choose the door style. I went with glass and like them.
I don't know the brand of RHP but it has served me well for a few years now. I have no complaints.
I have never had a VE tstat but many do and like them. Looking at the VE300 on the site it appears to only have one probe so you would only be able to control one heating device. The VE300X2 can only control 2.
If you need/want to control several heat sources I would recommend the Herpstat4. I have one and love it. It can control 4 different devices. Not just heating devices as it can control humidity, lights, and heat.

Here is a pic of the rhp in it. It shows my preferred method for mounting a tstat probe to a rhp too.

Gotcha thanks! I'll prob go with the Herpstat 2, I've heard it's a bit better when it comes to safety settings. Can you control the day night cycle and the temp. drop during the night with it?
