    Lacking Scales in one patch?

    Hey guys,

So I've noticed that my Dumerils Boa seems to be missing scales in an area under her chin. It doesn't look irritated or anything so I'm not too worried about it, just curious! Or maybe I should be worried? It really doesn't seem to bother her at all.
Picture! (sorry, it's not focused all that well... yaay phone camera! I should've gotten a better picture, but I just fed her and remembered while feeding her that I wanted to ask about it.)

It's really just smooth, white skin. No pink or red... Thoughts?

Have you observed her rubbing her face or head on anything in the cage? Usually if boas are rubbing they will get marks more on their nose. If it isn't inflamed, rubbed raw or infected I wouldn't think that its a big issue. I have had boas drop scales in the past with no issue. Did the animal incur any kind of burn in their past?

It's been a really long time since I owned Dumerils Boas but I had a small group and they all had that patch. I don't remember seeing Dumerils without it.

Oh okay! Thank you, I didn't know that it could have been a trait passed on, I'll look into that further!

Normal for Dums, they all have one like that.
