BP Excrement Questions
Hi all! I just got my first BP two weeks ago and I have a few questions about her excrement. First, how often should I expect to find poop/urine/urates? The first day I brought her back home she left me a nice surprise in the morning in her hide (poop). Should I expect to find any more poop, or do they only poop once from meal to meal? Another question, how much do BPs pee? I haven't seen any discoloration in the substrate or smelled anything bad coming from the enclosure, do they only pee occasionally? Anyway... thanks for any info!

Re: BP Excrement Questions
I've had mine for about 6 weeks & have only cleaned up poop twice. I'll find urates about every week to a week & a half. They look like little white pebbles & very hard if th snake released them hours before.
Congrats & welcome! I enjoy my BP very much, so much I have a 2nd one coming

They'll also drop a huge poop after they shed. My boy pooped in his shed, which was gross but made clean up easy!

You'll be lucky if yours ends up regular. The short answer is that they poop when they feel like it and not a minute sooner, though things like a shed or a thorough cage cleaning might tempt a bm out of some snakes. Don't be concerned if you go a few weeks and/or meals between poos, this is normal.
Urates happen more frequently, and can come either as hard pebble like substances or as a wet mess (or both!). As long as your bp is eating regularly, has good humidity and access to fresh water, Urates once a week or so is reasonable. More or less frequent still isn't anything to be concerned with most of the time.

I find this quite convenient, I wish they'd do it this way every time. Of course, they prefer to go right after I have cleaned the cage.
