    Het markers?

I know this has probably been talked about. I also know that markers are never a for sure thing to tell if a snake carries a recessive gene or not. And I know a lot of people swear by them. Out of all the het recessives I have, not one has the said "markers". Het Clowns, Het Pied, Het Hypo, Het Orange ghost and so on. I also do not know all of the "signs" to look for and I was also looking for your thoughts on the subject. What het recessives do you have that show these markers?

I can't personally speak for any of the other hets, but I own several 100% het pied or possible het pieds. All but one have the "traintracks" and the one has a small ringer. Pied also tends to wonk out the tail markings a bit. These are supposed to be indicative of an animal being het pied, but then again I know that there are some people working on lines of genetic ringers and snakes having the markers without being het pieds. These aren't always full proof, for pieds anyway.

Added a couple pics of the pied markers for you.

From my experience the het pied marker is usually the most accurate. You can also see het albinos that are much lighter than normal.

I have a light female, very light, but she is a het clown... not albino. My spider 100% het pied is (looks) like any other spider out there and no "train tracking". My female cinnabelly has the tracking but she is not het for anything.

Wow, I would have guessed pastel based on how yellow she is. Lovely snake.

    Re: Het markers?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm just getting into balls... Is there an easy way to tell het albinos from pastels? Because I thought the same as the person above me.

    Thanks!

I have a bright normal (het clown), but she is not in anyway an albino. Not as bright as above, you could almost mistake her for a pastel. What other markers are there for others like ghost/hypo, axanthic, genetic stripe, clown?
