A newbie question - Is this normal?

When I left Noodles before I went to bed he was in his hide with his head sticking out. I woke up to find him in the same position. Is it normal?

I don't use extra light. I turned that night lamp on just to take the picture.

He's hunting. Snakes are opportunity feeders, they sit there waiting for a meal to walk by.
    Cheers, Jeff

Always glad to see those heads poking out on feeding day - no leftovers.
