WC Rosy Boa- Severe nose rub scar & mouth breathing

I just received a WC rosy boa ( I live in the Mojave Desert of SoCal) to be housed in my classroom. I am a snake enthusiast with 30+ herps and several in my classroom (8th grade) that are used for enrichment and for my club. So, I'm not a total newbie, but this is my first rosy, so here goes....

The rosy that I just received had a severe nose rub that has since healed. It is completely scarred over. My issue is that she open mouth breathes quite a bit and I can hear her breath "puff" when she does so. She has no bubbles nor wetness. I've had snakes with RIs before, so I can generally spot that, but with this snake, I think it may be connected to the fact that her face is so scarred.

Does anyone have any experience or advice on this? Thanks!! Alli

    Welcome to the Forum Alli.

Could her nostrils gotten scarred over or covered up/ blocked with anything?
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

I think that may be it. I took a couple of pictures, but I couldn't figure out how to attach them in my message.
