    Great deal and a rescue

Well I picked up a pastel pied today for $450. Seemed like a great, but that wasn't the whole story. She's about 750g and looked rather empty to me. When the seller came she still hadn't shed, though she was more than ready. I noticed pink discoloration at the tip of her tail and off colored scales on the ventral part of her head. He told me she had this discoloration since he purchased her, from swreptiles. Needless to say, we'll get her on the right path to health. I would appreciate any thoughts on the pics etc. Thanks all,

    Ryan

Great looking girl - hopefully it was a good price and she'll be able to recover.

Looks pretty well taken care of to me, doesn't look malnourished at all. It's funny my Pied shed today so he got a nice tub cleaning as he released his bowels as they so love to do.
    Cheers, Jeff

I'm actually curious about the markings under the chin - my pied has them as well. And a random pink spot but I think it was left over from the shipping heat pack being a little too close.

Well, Imo the pied looks like a normal pied and not pastel pied. The markings under the chin are typical and normal scale coloration to me. The tail looks absolutely normal as well. You have a beautiful pied morph there.

I was skeptical, but (maybe the pics don't do it justice) the other markings are very yellow/ orange. I'm not going to get bent out of shape about it as she was a great deal.

If it was represented as a pastel pied and it is not, are you sure she is a she? I'm any kind of expert determining it is or isn't pastel so I'm not saying it isn't. I am just playing devil's advocate and asking the question.

My pied has the dark scales under the head as well. Looks normal to me.

In popped her. She checked out there. I was skeptical about the pastel gene based on pics. Either way, even for what I paid, if she's normal I did alright
