Re: Shedding or sick? New snake 1st shed
Not sure if u can see the picture I don't have the app and my phone won't let me download it. Can you see it? I can send pics to an email if you would like to help. It's an albino bp so it's a little harder to tell

Re: Shedding or sick? New snake 1st shed
Hmmmm. I have never seen an albino BP shed, so I am not 100% sure, but that isn't what my snakes look like when they shed. You are referring to the patches of pinkish skin, I'm assuming?

The pictures aren't very clear, but no, that isn't normal shed-related change. Try to get some clearer pics if possible. It looks like you have him on soil that is growing grass, and from the reflection in the glass, I'm thinking that this is in his terrarium. Is that correct? Although it's not impossible to keep healthy ball pythons that way, it would be VERY difficult to (and keep your snake healthy), and it generally isn't recommended for most, let alone a new owner. You should probably take him to the vet, dump the soil, sterilize the aquarium, and read up on husbandry.

I don't think that's a shed?? My albino boy doesn't look like that. He just gets a pink tinged belly and gets very dull coloured. I can also tell by his eyes. They're normally red but they get cloudy.

Re: Shedding or sick? New snake 1st shed
It's zilla jungle mix. And yes he is in a glass terrarium with vents and a screen top. But I have his set up spot on. I have a hot side that stays 90 in the day and 85 at night. The cool side has a humid hideout, plenty of branches to climb. Big water bowl that's always clean. Have a humidifier that's on 10 mins twice a day to keep it at %55. A uth on the hot side. I mean idk what I could be doing wrong I've done plenty of research

Look, I know that you are likely feeling stressed about your snake, so I will give you a pass, but you should really try being a little less chippy when people are trying to help you.
I don't know if you were referring to my post, but I think you probably were. I'm not sure what you think I was wrong about, and if you weren't referring to me, then apologize. I am guessing that you are referring to substrate. I told you what it looked like it could be from suboptimal photos and asked for clarification. Nothing more.
You imply that I am only bashing and not providing anything helpful, but I answered the title question of your post. That is not normal shed-related change. Was that not helpful?
I haven't ever known anyone keeping BPs to use Zilla Jungle mix. That doesn't mean it can't be done, but as a new keeper why go off the beaten path? I have a hunch that your substrate is holding too much moisture. That is distinctly different than too much ambient humidity. I generally think of jungle mix for amphibians and certain tropical snakes, turtles, etc. Not BPs. Doesn't mean it can't be done, but I wouldn't recommend it. Also, it doesn't get the best reviews.
My recommendations are as before... vet, toss that substrate, clean and sterilize your enclosure, use a more typical substrate, and double check your husbandry.
As I said before, if you can provide clearer pics, we might be able to better tell you what is going on, but we might not be able to.
If you don't find this helpful, let me know, and I won't respond to your posts going forward.
