    My first clutch results!

All 6 babies are out of the eggs. About time! They took longer to come out because the temps inside the tubs were a few degrees lower than what the thermostat was set to. I didn't realize this until about day 58 or so. They came out between days 67 and 71. Talk about nerve wracking. The wait was terrible, but this has all been a learning experience. So anyways, I have 4 mojaves and 2 normals. The pairing was Mojave male to a normal female. I am still figuring out the sexes, for at first I thought I only had one female out of the clutch, but think I mistaken the scent glands on a few for hemipenes. So I will sex them again here in a few days.

My holdback female Mojave. She has an almost perfect pattern, except for a cute little bow tie.

Beautiful babies! Are you going to sell them or keep them?

I'm going to hold back the one female Mohave, and sell the rest, once they have several good meals in them.

Congrats on your first clutch. It is so exciting from the first time you see one pip until they all crawl out and show you what they really look like. Pretty cool dorsal striping on a couple of the Mojos.

I know. I was a nervous wreck, and my fiancé thought I was insane. There is one that has a very long stripe that is so neat looking.

I was thinking of naming her Clara the Eleventh Dr. Who (Matt Smith) companion, because he was obsessed with bow ties and fezzes.

And I re-sexed them again. All the others are boys, and only one girl. I kinda wish I got more girls in the clutch. *shrugs* There is another clutch of ball python eggs that will hatch in 2-3 weeks, and a LARGE clutch of blood python eggs that will hatch in early August to look forward to.
