Retic tooth issue, unsure if vet visit is needed
So I just checked on my big girl and I noticed this. She doesn't like being held firmly so trying to get her to hold still was next to impossible. I don't see any blood and it hasn't affected her appetite (though nothing does), but it does look as if the tooth is coming out through her upper lip, at least from what I could see. We have a good vet nearby but I don't know if this is something that will just go away on it's own or if it requires a vet visit. Have any of you guys had this happen? Or should I just schedule a vet visit?

Re: Retic tooth issue, unsure if vet visit is needed
If I recall correctly, snakes shed their teeth from time to time. I've not experienced it personally, so hopefully someone else can weigh in.

Yeah, finding retic teeth in an enclosure is not an entirely uncommon scenario. She may have damaged it biting at the glass at some point, or when she was working on a large prey item. Could also just be a tooth being pushed out with a new tooth behind it. If it's not effecting her, don't worry it should come out on its own. If you start noticing abnormal behaviors, or swelling above her lip, start to worry as it could get stuck and form an abscess.

Retics are my passion. Just ask.
