Sold my snake, feeling down...`
I'm not sure what section this should go in but I ended up selling Twinkie. She's an albino ball python and I've had her since she was like 90 grams. 2.5 years later she was at 1600 grams and I handed her off to a new home. She was my first snake and my only real long term snake. She was the first pet I bought with my own money, and cared for her 100% with my own savings and wages. I cried for like a good 5 minutes and I'm tearing up as I turn off the heat lamp and moving her cage. I can't really talk about to anyone else because they're just like "oh it's just a snake" but I'm like really sad about it.
Has anyone felt this selling their first snake or just rehoming their reptiles in general?

Well when Twinkies went off the market they weren't gone for long.

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

I can't imagine how selling off one albino ball python would solve any financial problems. Selling off a car, sure, but I seriously doubt that the OP sold a ball python so her mortgage won't fall through.
I have sold herps in the past that I later regret selling. Time heals.

She was a pet and I had to rehome her due to the fact that I need to move out when I go to college. And the place I'm planning to move into do not allow any pets, especially not snakes. So I rehomed her in preparation of that.

That really sucks. I know what it is like having to sell loved ball pythons... but I was lucky. I found a friend who "bought my snakes" but I was able to buy them back when I was financially able to care for them again. I got evicted and had to find some money and with $3900 in snakes... I was able to get the money for a new deposit and first months rent.
But no way is that the same situation you are in. College is important, keep in mind and a great experience. Time does not always heal and you may never forget your Twinkie, which is a good thing. Good memories are a good thing to not erase. Sorry to hear about your snake but I am glad you found her a good home.

This is why I try to bring it to young members attention to the possibility of such things happening. You will be able to have a snake again one day.

Don't shy away from your feelings. Being sad is a perfectly fine emotion. You lost something that meant a lot to you, so feelings such as these are inevitable to follow. I am sure you let her go to a good home (they may be able to follow u with pictures/updates) so I am sure she will live a long and healthy loved life.
Just remember that in the future, after this amazing time in your life, that you will be able to have this experience with another reptile if you decide to. Life moves on and time heals all wounds.
Keep venting if need be, we will be here to help you through.
