Finally had my first boa expierence
So today is the day i can finally say ive held a boa... a beautiful columbian red tail female about 4.5-5yrs old. She was so calm and sweet... but such a power house, i was awe struck watching her move and look around, held her for a solid hr and im hooked... even better news is when im ready i have one, the owner is my girls co worker same guy that helped me pick out peach from the reptile expo offered me one because he is supposed to be shrinking his collection but instead it keeps growing

Congrats on holding your first boa. The first time I held one I was 7. Maybe even 6.

Get some nice caging and a good setup. You will enjoy a BC no doubt.

Congratulations!
Yeah, they are very powerful, yet so gentle. Such cool snakes!
This picture looks like I'm holding my arm up, but I'm not. Pandora pulled it up, then I relaxed it. She is holding the full weight of my arm and I weigh 200 pounds, so my arm weight is substantial fo a snake this size.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Please excuse the spelling in my posts. Auto-Correct is my worst enema.

Boas are great and if you think they are a powerhouse now, wait until you get one and one day you try and put him/her back in the cage and he/she decides they don't like that idea. Rosey who is my 6' BCI girl will just wrap my arm and squeeze. I picture this little air quote of "Let's see you get me back in the cage now!!" I usually give up and let her hang out on me some more while I go do stuff around the house. Her and Vicky are such lounge snakes, I swear they love being out where as Dottie my pied BP seems to enjoy sitting on me for about 5 mins, then tries to go up my sleeve or under a throw pillow or in the couch cushions. Her definition of heaven is sitting inside her hides all day and night lol.
