    Feeding live

I feed love and my banana pastel has been off feed for 3 weeks Friday. My question is when feeding live( I have to feed at night and it has to be completely silent) do you drop the rat in when your snake is active or do you wait for them to settle and finally stop slithering around? Looking for a better approach to this.

You opened the can of worms, be prepared for what happens next. Live feeding is a touchy subject around here for some reason.

I feed mine in the late afternoon and haven't had any issues, but it seems to vary from snake to snake. Some of mine are totally still prior to feeding, but I have one or two weirdos that cruise around looking for food beforehand. Sometimes my lesser bee does a "food dance" where he just spins his head and neck around in a circle at the front of his tub until I put a rat in front of his nose (he's strictly f/t, because he's special and unable to hit a moving target).

    Re: Feeding live

Lol I know it. My boy won't even attempt to eat f/t. He will actually do anything to avoid it. He's been on live from the breeder and he is around 550g. He just gets freaked out easily so tonight is feeding night and he's on the move but I don't know if I should just drop the rat in there while he's out and about because I'm sure he will be like "what the hell!" And try to get away as fast as possible
