    Mentally challenged rat

I got this guy in one of my recent rat Breeding. He seems to just spin in circles, spinning his head, and rolling around.

Has the community seen this before?

Not in rats but I had a chick in a mail order purchase that did that. She died shortly after coming in.

I've seen things like it, though only that bad in the case of a rabbit that had suffered a heat stroke. There are a couple different things that could cause it, but the bottom line seems to be that rats like this don't get better. Even if you were willing to get treatment for it, it would likely still have a head wobble and some very noticeable equilibrium loss. I don't believe any of the causes are contagious, but you may still want to gas the poor thing.

    Not in one that young.
Great signs of an ear infection.
    Feed it off

    Re: Mentally challenged rat

I thought the same thing as pit, inner ear infection/deformity, or maybe even some neurological movement disorder. Hopefully he's the only one that turns out like that, poor guy.
