well tonite i tried to remove my new bp's eyecap by soaking it in water for about 15 minutes and then trying to gently rub the dead skin off of his head/neck. It didn't work too well...although there were a few flakes floating in the water afterwards. he was kind of head shy, and i wasn't sure how much "force" (i tried to not restrict his motion at all...is it ok to hold him stationary for a short time?) i should use so i wasn't able to get the big chunk off. I'm hoping maybe tonite he'll be able to rub it off on his own. do you guys have any other suggestions on how to remove the left over shed after soaking him for a while?
thanks
ps...i have a humidifier in my room now so hopefully taht will help with the humidity problems i've been having

Don't try too hard to force his head still, because he doesn't really have a braincase for protection -- which is why they're so headshy. It's best to be patient and rub gently with a wet QTip or let him slither around in a damp towel to try to loosen the caps himself.

A couple of days with a humidity box over his hot spot and he'll work all of that stuck shed off for himeself.
Hope this helps.
