Housing different species in rack

Can you house different species of animals in a rack system? Like, a ball python, a tarantula and a scorpion? I have a chameleon too, but she needs a tall enclosure, so she will be in a separate area. I'm looking at expanding my pet collection, and I am short on room.

I think the issue you run into is that these animals don't have all the same temp requirements

So long as you can provide proper husbandry for all of the inhabitants, and make sure they're secure, sure you can house different species in the same rack.

I figured I would be setting up different lighting for each pet, therefor different heat sources. Most racks I've seen have one heating system. I prefer individual heating systems.

I know absolutely zero about inverts but I can imagine you'll hit some snags trying to keep scorpions, tarantulas, and ball pythons all in the same type setup. It isn't just about being able to provide temperatures, what about humidity? Ventilation requirements? General size of the enclosures? Do your tubs have lids, and if not what does that mean for a spider that may build its webs all around the tub? There are a lot of species-specific husbandry points you'll need to work out before trying something like this.

Just my two cents, like I said I know nothing about inverts.

I wouldn't try it because I don't want to cause stress on the animals. But I think if they have the same care then it would work.

Most racks will have a temperature variation from top to bottom, find out what the average temps are in each slot and adjust accordingly, I find that the bottom one or two slots in my 12 tub high CB70 racks are cooler then the rest of the tubs so I house more temperate zone snakes in those tubs (bullsnakes, milksnakes that type of thing)

BTW I haven't kept a lot of inverts (a few tarantulas) but I wouldn't think that a tub in a rack would work out well.

My tubs don't even exist at this point. It was just a thought. I'm actually thinking about creating a shelving system that slides for easier access.
