    Loki lost his rat?

Hey all just thought this was kind of odd because sapphire never lost her rat. I gave loki his prekilled pup, he struck, coiled and rekilled it as normal, but after while getting his teeth out of the pup seems to have Lost sight of it. He's tracing around the tank "hunting". When I open the tank he curls up, ready to strike, tracking everything the way he does right before I give him his pup. The pup is laying off the feeding cardboard in some substrate. I have placed his heat lamp over the pup hoping it will raise it's body heat, just wondering what should I do? I don't want him striking the tongs and hurting himself while I try to pickup or move the rat. very perplexed as I said my other snake never lost. A rat like this...could it be a possible symptom of a health concern?

Some of them are as sharp as a marble.

If they really can't find it I use tongs to take it back out, reheat the head, and then re-offer it to them.

Ditto. My Spinner Blast is notorious for this. Half of the time she's got herself too worked up and is too derpy to be interested in the second time around though.

Haha I was just so concerned because on my previous snake I fed live and she never lost one like that. I'm thinking that after defrosting the rat in the water I just didn't leave the heat lamp on it long enough to keep its temp up throughout the uncoiling process, and he lost it. Probably more my mistake than his when I look at it now.

I do the same thing I actually had to do that today with one of my girls who tried to eat her rat butt first and then gave up. It's always funny when you open their tub and they look up at you like "Help me, please I'm struggling here" silly freaking snakes lol
