    Exclamation Prometheus is PINK!!!!

    Hello, all.

I recently moved my Ivory ball python, Prometheus, to a tub. The humidity is great--he shed instantly--though sometimes a bit high (around 80) depending on the temperature outside. He's very content in his hide, I have a rheostat controlling an UTH, keeping it around 90 degrees. Everything seems great, except...

Prometheus is bright pink! ALL THE TIME!

I've touched and handled him in his pink state. His skin is cool and he acts normally. In fact, his belly is the only thing on him that's white. I've checked and rechecked the rheostat, and touch-tested the hot side of the tank. All of it seems fine. He favours the hot side of the tank, preferring to lie right on top of the UTH.

Does anybody know what's going on with my baby?

All advice is appreciated. Thank you so much!
    Fasten your seatbelts.

    Re: Prometheus is PINK!!!!

I had one do that after months of not shedding. Had a complete shed but seemed to be pretty rough on her and she was pink. I soaked her for 5-10 mins daily in luke warm water after she went pink and she seemed to love it. She ended up shedding again within less than 2 weeks and looked great (and white) ever since!

that is odd, i hope everything is ok with him... when i got my pastel her belly was a crazy pink, almost rose colored but that was because she was going into shed, and that cant be your case because you said he alresdy shed

Thumbs up Re: Prometheus is PINK!!!!

Possibly bc it takes him a little longer to hit his optimal comfortable internal temperature. Darker pigmentation has the tendency to absorb and retain heat more readily. That is just IMO.

I had a pied thst the white bits turned pink. I was very worried, but it corrected itself in a week or so.
