scale rot

my snake has dry scales and i think thats scale rot and i have some neo sporin called Fougrea and it has no sign of saying pain relieving or not becase i read that if you use neo sporin that it can't be pain relieving is this true ?

mine had some dry scales but they started dissappearing on the first shed and were completely gone on the second so it doesnt necessarily mean it is scale rot it could be from a retained shed, or bad husbandry conditions from the place u got it from.(there are more factors but cant really think of them right now!)

To answer your question, you can buy neosporin that has an added pain reliever in it. However, I would not want to use something that has pain relieving capabilities meant for humans on a reptile. The dosage on the pain reliever might be too much for the snake.

Applying a little neosporin on some of the dry scales should be ok. If that makes you uncomfortable putting something intended for humans on a snake, you can always get some Shed ease.
