Keeping Two Corn Snakes In One Cage

My neighbor gave me a huge 100 gallon tank its about 5'x2'x3'. I was wondering could i put two female corn snakes in there.

Wow! Nice neighbor. Well, I would want to make sure the corns are about the same size. It's not typical to keep two snakes in the same enclosure but 100 gallons is quite a bit of room. Are you sure of the sexes? That could be something you want to verify. The enclosure should still be set up with the basic temperature gradients specific for temperate species reptiles. They will require a warm zone and a cool zone with a basking area or "hot spot". Even though the requirements are not tropical like bp's, corn snakes are reptiles with certain requirements. I think a thermostat is a good investment to regulate your heating zones. Be careful of a lot of wooden ornaments in the enclosure. Wood attracts mites! Make sure to get your thermometers preferably digital and a temperature gun ir to track your surface temps. I personally wouldn't, because of a thread I saw on here about someones snake eating the other while they were cleaning the cages/tanks. Maybe you can get or make a divider so they each have a side. I really don't know much about snakes, as I'm still learning with my bp. I would be careful though, whatever you decide to do. And I agree, what an awesome neighbor! I could easily fit in that tank! Lucky little corns.

I wouldn't. I would keep the corn snakes in an appropriately-sized enclosure, and put something bigger in the 100-gal tank. If you can make a plexiglass top for it and secure it, there's a lot of different species you could house in it.

If you could put in a divider that they can't get past, 50 gallons is a lovely amount of room for a corn snake and you could make the tank look really cool. But I would not keep them together. Too many potential complications.

A divider sounds like a good idea. The only reason for two corn snakes is they are pretty cheap and have cool looking colors. also my mom dont really like big snakes.

If you feed the snakes in a separate enclosure by themselves I don't see this being a problem. You could make a really cool enclosure with plants and stuff.

I would look into bioactive substrates in a set up this big because cleaning it is gonna be a real tough proposition due to the size and weight.
