once every 3-4 weeks when they are young, and then somewhat less frequently when they are older.

Yup, what mlededee said. My bp last shed September 22nd, and just tonight while feeding her, I discovered she had blue eyes. So she's finally going into shed again. I expected her to be shedding a bit earlier, but she's approaching 5 months old, so I'm sure the time between sheds are going to be increasing.

Every snake is different, but generally as babies they'll shed once a month. Then as they get older it'll be a bit less frequent. By adulthood they could shed only 2-3 times a year. They do most of their growing in the first year or so, so that's why they shed more frequently I believe.

So ya..woo...tonight was interesting. Fed her and found out she's in shed. This'll be my second shed with Pelota. Hoping for a 1 piece shed if she doesn't crumble it all up in her hide like last time, lol.
