    Question about retained eye caps!

My little guy she, a bad shed at that, so I soaked him for a little while in some shallow water in a small non-airtight container. That took care of the bad shed BUT he still has scale covered eyecaps.... Any ideas on how to safely remove these? Thanksss in advance!

I have never done it myself, but I heard a steady hand and a q-tip can do the trick

Ye, I just saw a YouTube video on it... But I don't want to attempt and end up damaging his eyes, will the eyecaps naturally fall off?

Yes, if you're not comfortable messing with his eyes, then keep his humidity up and he very likely will deal with them himself during his next shed if not sooner.

In the meantime you need to fix the husbandry problem(s) that caused the bad shed in the first place, assuming he's not a new arrival and you're fixing someone else's mistakes.

He is a new arrival, he had a bad shed from the local pet store. He was in the middle of the bad shed when I put him in his new home, I am taking good care of him and watching him closely, I'm sure all will be fine

Just keep the humidity at around 60-65% and they will fall off after a while or next shed

Question: Is it OK to feed him when he has retained eyecaps? Will he eat for me in this state?

It's fine to feed. Might miss a couple of strikes. But but each snake is different. So doesn't hurt to try

Ok awesome! I just didn't know if having retained eycaps would make him not hungry or something.
