    BP feels funny

we got our royal python in mid december as a hatchling, maybe a month or two old? (not sure I can't remember but basically he's a baby). we had him in an 18L(ish) RUB but didn't have a heat mat at the time so just placed his RUB on top of the radiator and kept it on all the time which was fine for the time being and he was perfectly healthy and active and feeding extremely well for a few weeks, then when we got his heat mat we had some serious problems with the humidity and it got to the point where there was water running down the sides of his box and his newspaper was soaked in places. because of this he obviously wasn't wanting to eat so we moved him to a 9L rub at new year with better ventilation etc and since then its been the perfect temperature and humidity and he's been active and looking for food etc. but since christmas eve we haven't been able to feed him (tried scenting, braining etc), sometimes he would take the food but not eat and we tried leaving it in over night and nothing worked, but eventually he got so hungry that he's finally eaten a baby rat (I was becoming so worried about him!). so that was about two months of not eating and now two days later he seems fine, but when i went to go and touch him today he felt kind of soft. I know when they're seriously ill some people describe them as feeling like a towel but he's nowhere near as bad as that, just a slight difference....
so BASICALLY (sorry for the huge paragraph) should I be worried or will he just be feeling like this because he hasn't eaten in so long? I'm constantly checking his mouth area for mucus etc to see if he maybe has an RI from the condensation problem but I can't see anything.

No he seems totally fine, just slightly soft
im hoping it's just because he's not eaten in so long but I feel like I need some confirmation on that

I don't think there is an issue with ball pythons becoming soft... Maybe it is just hydration, temperature of his body or something. I have no idea. But I wouldn't call it a problem.

    Re: BP feels funny

ok good, I was getting myself more and more worked up about it and worrying, it almost feels like he's lost weight or something so he's no as toned or hard or whatever as he used to be. thanks guys! I'll just keep feeding him to fatten him up a bit and hope for the best, I'll let you know if it gets any worse x
