Ive been checking out the reptile rescue site for snakes for adoption and now they have two bp's and a corn snake so i talked to my mom about it and she said on payday we will be going down there to check it out, the adoption fee for the ball pythons is only 40 bucks ! so im really exited about that.

If the snake is bigger ill be housing it in a rubbermaid. And if not a rubbermaid ill go down to the old fish shop, i heard they sell old fish tanks that dont hold water anymore for really cheap, somebody i know got a 50 gal for only 30 bucks becuase there was just a teeny tiny crack in the bottom.

If you guys go to either awesomereptiles.com or las cruces reptile rescue (type that into your search box) the site will come up and you can see pictures of the snakes in the adoption part.

I just found out that one is about 3 feet the other about 2 and they are both feeding on frozen thawed prey.

That sounds great. Hopefully this is a somewhat orderly rescue. Just remember, you get what you pay for. I know I rescued four ball pythons that were "healthy, checked for parasites, treated, and eating great on f/t rats". Needless to say, during quarantine I noticed that they were not eating very well (I've had them for about 5 months now, and only recently have they began to eat for me). I still haven't made them apart of my "collection", but I treated them MYSELF by taking them to the vet and guess what? They all had something wrong with them. So I spent $50 each for adoption fee's, and ended up spending about $350 for all their med's. I learned my lesson, and now only buy captive bred animals from REPUTABLE ball python BREEDERS (not dealers or importers, but BREEDERS).

Just beware, and remember that you get what you pay for.

Take it easy, and I really hope this works out for you.

AHHH now you got me all paranoid emroul !!!

Ive been talking with the president of the rescue and he said that they have begun to "slow down" on eating probaly due to the cooler weather (which makes me think they are males.....Females dont usually go off feed during this time.....or do they? )But in the pictures they both look pretty good.As far i i know they have no parasites and they have not been sexed yet (but i can get that done myself)

I would like to order from online but my parents being the true latins that they are, always think somebody is trying to rip them off and cheat them out of thier money. No matter how reputable i tell my parents the breeders are, they are very sceptical and dont want me buying anything that i dont see in person. So basicly.....ordering online is not goin to happen

I am no judge of photos of reptiles.

The corn snake in the photo looks a little thin to me, but I don't have any really experience with young corns.

The second ball also looks a little thin and I can't make any sort of judgement call on the first one, other than it's older

Yes i agree, the smaller snakes do look a little thin to me too.

The smaller Bp also has a killer pattern.

I just talked to they guy and he said that both of the ball's are females and the bigger one is a much better feeder, so im pretty sure ill be bringing home the 3 footer since a good apetite is the most important thing to me (and of course tempermant)

I was thinking about getting a rubbermaid but i know a place here in town where i can get a good sized tank at an awesome price, all i need is a tank and another acurite thermometer

This will be my third FEMALE snake, geez, i guess i just have somthing with the ladies 8)

    Woo Woo.

Well, if you get decide to get into breeding, you've got "lots" of females..too bad they're not all the same species.
