So, I'm a python girl. I breed BPs (have a small group of 6) and have three Short Tails (so I've been learning a lot about those species). As would have it...I'm the "snake lady" in my circles, so when someone knows of someone trying to rehome a snake, I get the call. So, normally it's a RTB or a colubrid and I pass...BUT my one exception outside of pythons would be the BRB. As it would happen, I just got an email from a person referred by a friend who wants to rehome a pair of BRBs.
I'm NATURALLY asking the owner a ton of questions as I don't want to bring risk into my current collection...I also am trying to figure out an additional quarantine zone (as my current one is in use via STPs). Plus, I don't want to walk into a species uneducated (so I have some homework to do), although they seem to be along the same vein of what I work with - just typical story: humidity and temp watching. Any thoughts on this one? I know there is some suspicion to bringing boas into python collections and IBD being a concern - but the owner claims they have other snake species and everyone is healthy. I really want to get them and especially if it's a male and female, possibly start breeding them...but that's OBVIOUSLY after I figure their husbandry out. So, just looking for some other hobbyists opinions on this and what I need to be aware of watch out for?
