    When to upgrade tub?

    Right now i am in the process of building a new rack and was wondering about what size do they need to upgrade to the next size of enclosure. One of my males is too big for his 6qt. He is about 400g. and i will have a new rack soon. But when do you guys upgrade your bps to the size?

    Wow 400g in a shoebox. I move mine
    hatch---->200g 6qt
    200g---->500g 12q
    500g and up to 28q
    Even my bigger girls eat better in a 28q as opposed to a 41q. All of my snakes are 3000g or less tho.

    Most breeders keep their adult males, up to about 1500grams in a 28qt (v35) equivalent tub and adult females in a 41qt (v70). I disagree with the previous post about stuffing an adult female in a 28 qt tub. Better feeding response does not indicate happiness or make it more humane. Watch any of the snake room tour videos of the top breeders and they keep there females in v70 equivalent tubs. Temp gradient is important for many reasons. You cannot create a hot and cool side for your snake when its on both sides 24/7.

    Re: When to upgrade tub?

    I have hatchlings - 250g in 6qt, 251 - 550 in 12qt, 551 - 1600 in 28qt and everything higher in 41qts.

    Re: When to upgrade tub?

    400 Gram is about as big as you can do in a shoe box.

    28 Qt. is about the same, to the same surface area as a 32 qt. You can do to about 1800 grams max in a 28/32 qt

    You'll need 41 qt. for older larger females
