Enchi quality?
I mainly just browse the forums not saying much but I've been curious about the enchi gene and thinking about picking up a female with what seems to be a reduced
pattern but low on the yellows and oranges. From the looks of it I guess most people would say shes a low quality because of her colors but she has a nice almost full back
stripe with very little banding, so my question for you guys is if you have a low quality enchi female with very little banding mainly just a blotchy back stripe
(not very bright with the yellows/oranges) to a normal can you produce offspring with better color?

Quality in, quality out. Pairing a "low" quality Enchi to a normal (unless the normal is VERY clean and light) will more than likely not improve your line of Enchi. Btw, I think most people, when shopping for Enchi's, look for clean banding and light colors.

I rarely see pictures of adult Enchi pinstripes. Mine started real light, then greened? up. Still has lots of bright yellow on its lower tail area, and a really reduced pattern. I wondering is that normal for an Enchi pin. I'll try an post a pic, so far I've only been able to post pics in my profile.

If she doesn't have the trademark Enchi banding, are you sure it's even an Enchi? That is the first thing a buyer or anyone else should look for in an Enchi is the banding. The more bands the better. If she doesn't have any, I wouldn't bet it's even an Enchi at all. Sure some have alien heads and some don't. Some are high orange/yellow and some are not, but no banding?? Not me. And unless you are interested in producing more "enchi's" that don't look like an enchi and won't sell, why would you buy and breed her?

Ugly enchis can produce superb enchis, as superb enchis can produce ugly ones.

Re: Enchi quality?
Having quality to start increases the chances of producing offspring that are also quality- but it doesn't guarantee it! It's personal preference really, but I prefer to find the highest quality specimens available.
