I want to know what you think

Hey guy I have * 2 year oldfemale ball python. She's in a 4ft tank by 2 by 2 ...she's also 4 ft long her self...I have 2 heat pads on I provide 3 hides plants waterdish etc..I also run a daytime light cycle...she's on aspen and mix cocohusk...eats everytime...but every 2nd or 3rd day she has a weeeze and at night became very focused on trying to get out of the tank I rarely find her in the hot hide always in. The cool one. Any. Suggestions?

Not entirely sure what you're asking but I have a few suggestions. First off how are your temps? What are you using to heat her hot side and how are you regulating it, i.e. thermostat, dimmer etc? How are you measuring the temps on the hot side? If it's too hot that could explain why she's never there. When you say weeeze do you mean she's peeing/urinating or do you mean Wheeze as in her breath is labored? If it's the latter it could be that your conditions such as heat and humidity are incorrect and she has developed a Respiratory Infection (RI) and you need to get her medical attention if this is the case.
    Cheers, Jeff

Hey, I believe a occasional wheeze can occur when the animal is stressed and or is exerting itself beyond normal limits. However if you are hearing it every 2nd or 3rd day that sounds suspicious to me! You should first bump up your temps all around the enclosure and monitor those temps closely. A slight increase in the temps will boost the reptiles immune system. Try to switch from cocohusk to either all aspen or cypress mulch. Cocohusk I believe can be irritating to the respiratory tract. If the wheezing persists you may need to have the reptile examined by a vet! Good luck. Stay in peace and not pieces. A.C.

monitor, yes. Increase them? We don't know what the current temps are and there is an indication in the OP that they may already be too high.
