I'm confused
When an ad says central American (C.A.) boa, what exactly is it? Nicaraguan, Costa Rican, Salvadorian?
does it matter? I would like to think so because I an one of those people that like to know what locality a snake is from unless the info is just that unavailable.

Don't know. You should ask the person that made the ad.

I don't blame you. I'd want to know myself. However, you may dealing with someone not knowledgeable enough to make THAT call. But knows enough from the color traits that it came from C/A.

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

There are several locales from Mexico, maybe that's what they're referring to.

Yeah I understand that there are several locals but which ones are which?
like when you look at a Costa Rican boa and a salvadorian boa, they look very similar. hog island and Nicaraguan boas are pretty close too, they mostly look like the same boa in different color phases. There is the regular nic and the hypo nic then the hog island boa is like right in between.
I'm gonna ask the seller about it but I just wanted to know for my own kind of reference. I don't mind that there are crosses in localities, I just wish people would keep track of it so as to not create confusion.
Thanks guys.

Some centrals are sold as just generic CAs that can have genetic color morphs like T+ etc. Nics, Argentinians and others are usually sold as distinct localities.

I just bought a CA motley. I think it basically means that the boa is of central american origin, but is of mixed (or unknown) background. I think some of the CA localities were mixed to get different morphs, etc. So it could basically be a CA "mutt" of sorts. I wasn't bothered by mine being a CA and not a specific local (I just wanted a CA motley due to their looks and smaller size). I am just keeping him as a pet. When I start breeding, I plan on acquiring specific locality stock (Nicaraguans).
Currently keeping:
1.0 BCA 1.0 BCI
1.0 CA BCI 1.1 BCLs
0.1 BRB 1.2 KSBs
1.0 Carpet 0.5 BPs
0.2 cresteds 1.2 gargs
1.0 Leachie 0.0.1 BTS
