Today I was able to get my Burm to feed for the first time since around October. I assumed that this was due to it being the breeding season. The last couple of weeks I noticed he had been much more alert whenever anything neared his enclosure. Tried feeding but to no avail.
My usual method has always been to just toss his F/T bunny in there and he always did a good job at taking care of things. But today I had a different idea. Not feeling safe using tongs or holding the bunny with my hands (he's more likely to shoot out of the door than to go for the rabbit) I got the idea to put his bunny on a paper plate, and use a pair of long hemostats to wiggle the plate around. This way I could still have the doors far enough shut that he wouldn't be able to make his way out and into my face. And much to my surprise, it actually worked.
Fed my Blood Python as well
