    Are we getting close?

We have been breeding our lemonblast male to our female spider for a few months now. The spider has gone off feed for the past month. Now we see a lot of coiling and water bowl soaking. This is our first season and I was wondering if we are close to having eggs soon?

    Re: Are we getting close?

She's likely still building. This is a good sign though as she is seeking the cool side while the follicles are developing. It takes a ton of patience because things just don't happen quickly. Think 6 months from first pairing to eggs. We started pairing a female in September and she had her pre-lay shed last night, so we are still roughly a month from eggs. Just keep an eye on her and the next sign should be her starting to brighten up (glow) as she moves towards ovulation. Best of luck.

The waiting can drive you mad. I have several projects to work with so that I don't go crazy waiting.

Has she shed recently? She should lay 30 days after her pre-lay shed.

Another sign they're getting close is that they leave small amounts of urates almost every day. Reminds me of when I was pregnant and had to pee every 15 minutes.
