    Feeding help

My ball python just turned one year old on January 13th. He has not eaten in about 3.5 months. I havent been trying too hard, just offering him a mouse every week. He seems scared of the mouse (frozen thawed) and slithers over to the other side of the tank as soon as he smells it. When I bought him he was eating live, and easily transferred to eating frozen without a problem! And then I moved across the country and he ate the first month, and then randomly stopped. How long should i wait before I try the live mice again? Hes acting completely normal otherwise just friendly and relaxing! 5 months ago the vet told me he was a little plump but now he seems pretty skinny to me. He also has only shed twice in the past 4.5 months! Please help!!

I wouldn't worry just yet. Are your temps and humidity on point? If so, he's probably just a BP doing what BP's do. They're notorious for taking long food breaks. It's also the season when a lot of snakes, not just BP's, are off feed. As long as he's not losing significant weight, or showing other obvious signs of illness, you can probably wait him out. I'd offer food every 10-14 days until he got back on track. If you get too worried/impatient you can always try a small live feeder to see if that kick starts his appetite. Best wishes.
