Breeding Advice, don't want her to die!!

hi all,


so i was up early today cleaning tubs of some males, got this spider male i have been complaining about not breeding or showing signs of interest in breeding. anyways, it was about time to clean his tub, at the moment i did not have any extra empty tub, so i figured to out him in one of my 800grms female pastel. i was really confident that nothing would happen since 1. she was very young to breed 2. her size is no where near 1.5kg 3. the male was so stubborn to breed 4. they're both virgins 5. it was just gonna take probably 20 mins for me to clean and dry his bin. so i went cleaning, after 15-20 mins, i tried to open the female's tub to get him out. to my surprise the LOCK!! OMG!! i dont want my female to die..


any tips?

I would be feeding that female more heavily than normal to allow her to build up some more size just in case he did get her.

She shouldn't die though. I've heard of small females being bred. She may lay a nice small clutch, she may slug out, she may not lay at all. A lock doesn't necessarily mean she's gunna end up gravid.

I've heard Ralph Davis state that he's bred females at 1100g

It's hard to say because generally when you start pairing them, the females will start eating a lot more aggressively. So even though your girl is only 800g, once she starts pounding food she may be 1500g or more by the time she's gravid and ready to lay.
