    Shedding too often?

Sampson is a 3 ish yr old 3 1/2 foot BP that was in bad shape when we got him. He was emaciated w/ a nasty belly burn and multibale layers of stuck shed. He is now doing well and healing, down to about 8 inches of raw skin by his tail and eating regularly (1 small rat a week). He is happy and active, but boy is he shedding. He is currently in the final stage of his 4th shed with us in 4 months. So far he has shed basicly the first week/week and a half of each month. This seems excessive after what I have read. I have been writing it off as good (part of the healing process), but now nearing the en of et aother shed and after not being able to play with him for a whole week I start to worry. All and all he seems to be in good health, active, curious, eating, popping, and occasionally tryng to ecape to find some yummy rodents. He is gaining weight (I need to weigh him I know but I don't have a scale and the weather's too miserale to take him down to some one who does) and gerth, in a good way. So, 2 quesions 1)is this too often 2) how often does a 'norma'l BP approximtly 3 yr old usully shed?

It's a good thing. Shedding is a sign of health and growth.

I'd say a "Normal" amount of shedding for a 3 year old would be 4-6 times per year.
