    Rack Systems: What's your favorite?

Looking around at rack systems and hoping to get some feedback in the form of personal experience. Right now it's a tie between Animal Plastic, Boaphile, and Reptile Basics systems. Boaphile's pricing includes shipping, tubs and they also ship fully assembled. Animal plastics seems only slightly cheaper after shipping is factored in, plus they are flat packed and don't include tubs. Reptile basics seems to be the cheapest option, although (with the particular model I was looking at) it does not include tubs and is also flat packed for shipping. Further, the tubs it's built around are not the typical Sterilites I can pick up from Target, so possibly more expensive/have to wait on shipping/pay more for them?

Any feedback you have for me would be great, and if you know of another rack system that I've overlooked and you want to recommend, please feel free to do so!

Re: Rack Systems: What's your favorite?

My favorite are c-serpents, already put together and complete with tubs not to mention great customer service from Chris.

Big advantage since I live on the east coast is that I can pick up what I need at the shows, so no shipping.

If I was to order a full enclosed adult rack from AP I would pay more with no tubs, I would need to put it together myself, and also pay $160 on the top of that in freight.

I have both c-serpents and Reptile Basics. The Reptile Basics is designed in a way that's easier to mount the heat sensor on the tape. They are both similar in quality. I had the RB rack delivered and picked up the C-Serpents at a show when we lived in Florida. Now that I'm in Texas, I will probably get my next one from RB.

Yeah, I'm west coast (Eastern Washington) so I'm not sure that c-serpents is gonna work for me wrt shipping. Otherwise I would have totally checked them out as I have heard nothing but positive stuff.

We have, boaphile, c serpents and reptile basics. All good products. However the wait for boaphile can be absurd compared to the other two as well as there's no comparison in customer service. I have to agree with Deborah, Chris is great. I believe his shipping fees are set, as is reptile basics'. We also like that many c serpents racks come with the vision tubs, which is a plus.Bivman, Chris has been vending the last few NARBC Arlington shows and takes plenty of preorders, so if you are going that's a great way to get the racks and save on shipping. All in all we like all our racks, but c serpents seems to be getting the majority of our business.

For what it's worth, here's my kids endorsement. They both asked Santa for a C-Serpents rack. Apearantly, they made the nice list.

Ahaha nice! Did Santa also give 'em new snakes to fill them with?

I've never ordered something that big from the other side of the country before and I don't really plan on visiting the east coast in... ever. How do freight charges work, what should I look at expecting to pay after everything is factored in?

No snakes from Santa. They work plenty hard to earn money to buy their own animals. They've got a pretty good collection too. They also breed leopard geckos. I suspect knowing Chris, he will honor the shipping prices on his site regardless of your location.

Nice, those are some A+ kids you got there!

I guess the best way to find out would be to email Chris and ask. That would rock to be able in get some c-serpents racks in my area.

Re: Rack Systems: What's your favorite?

I would have to suggest boaphile. Like previously stated, the lead time for boaphiles can sometimes be longer than expected. My first rack was delivered a week later than expected at 7 weeks and my second rack was delivered a week earlier at 4 weeks. The quality is amazing and its really nice having it be a plug and play rack with no assembly required. The only complaint I have would be the customer service with email, but if you call Jeff he almost always answers and if you leave a message he will call you back.
