    Heat bulb question

My BO is currently housed in a 20g long tank. I have a UTH under his hide and also provide a infared red heat bulb on top of the hide. My question for you guys is what's a good heat bulb to use at night or maybe even the whole time? I dont mind the red light at night to bad but my gf doesn't like it so I thought about the moonlight bulbs but wasn't sure what the heat output was? Any advice I appreciate! Also should I keep the light above the hide or move it to another spot?

Just use a CHE. That's what I use and for lighting I just use room/daylight. Works good and Dot gives her seal of approval as she eats like the world is coming to an end every 3 days. I keep my light in the middle of my 36x18. Don't really need the heat on the UTH side as well the UTH is providing the belly heat. Also CHEs will last a lot longer than heat bulbs and aren't prone to dying if you move them or they get bumped.

CHE are fine with a metal screen lid right? My screen is sealed with tinfoil and duct tape and I have my light sitting directly on top of it.

Yup, I use foil on my screen top too and have the CHE on the screen lid. Just make sure the screen lid is metal screen and not fiberglass screen as both will be fine heatwise but fiberglass screen isn't rigid enough to hold the weight of a CHE.
