"Slither slither slither" a poem from Julian
So my nephew Julian wrote this poem about Monty. I thought I'd share it with you guys (I know its not the stuff that's usually posted here, but I thought it was cute!)
-"Slither slither slither, I bump my nose against the glass.
"Take me out, Ma!" I say. "I miss your warmth!"
I love my Ma, and my dad.
They saved me.
Sometimes I get scared, and I scare my Ma and Dad, but I don't mean to.
I hope they still love and trust me!
I'm trapped in a glass box, but Ma and dad take me out often, sometimes even outside!
The sun tickles my scales.
I like to climb on the banister, but Ma takes me down.
"No, Monty." She says, but I pretend I can't hear her.
Its warm in my glass house. But sometimes it gets cold and dark.
They feed me fat little mice, they're so tasty I gobble them up fast, and then I get another one in a week!
Sometimes Julian asks to hold me, but ma tells him "Not right now, you have too much energy" but I feel lazy all the time. I like to hide in my rock house. It makes me feel safe.
But sometimes, when Ma and dad are sleeping I like to come out so I can see them without getting scared!
Lots of people are scared of me, and I don't know why, I'm very nice. I even let Ma touch my head sometimes when I feel brave.
Slither slither slither."-
I thought it was absolutely adorable, he's 10, and this is what he thinks of Monty.
What do your younger siblings, or children, think of your snakes?
