    New rack heat question

    Hey all,

I just built a melamine rack and only have a zoomed reptitherm 16w pad.
I have ordered some heat tape and was wondering if it is safe to have the pad as shown in the pic.

It's just foil taped down to the melamine board and the probe is packing - taped down.

    Thanks all

    Re: New rack heat question

I also am having an issue keeping the "cool" side higher than 73-75 F.
My house is ac is set at 75 when I leave for work in the morning, then its put down to 72 or 73.

is there a way to supplement the heat other than a UTH in the front with another t-stat? I currently have the herpstat 1, and not sure if i'm past my time to return and upgrade to the herpstat 2
