New Baby BP
I have a ?, first I'm a new owner to a baby BP...it is my first snake in over a decade (I use to own cornsnakes when I was like 12) but on sat. I went out and purchased a baby BP I put and it new home and left it alone until today wed. I tried to feed it for the first time it wouldn't eat it struck at the pinky but then it wasn't interested...so a new owner what did I do wrong, I fed it (Darby) it in a quiet not too bright spot, his habitat is about 24in wide and 18in long idk the height but needless to say it's a pretty decent size, 2heat lamps 1 for day 1 for night 2 thermostats ~80or lower cool side(which he always hangout at) ~90 hot side, 1 for humidity ~60, 2 hide spots 1on the cool 1on the hot, coconut fiber bedding and 1 waterbowl
Soo any tips or ?'s for this first timer would be greatly appreciated thanks. Oh and I tried to feed him 3 thawed pinkies (I thought he should be eating something bigger) and he's about a Lil over a ft and a few inches

Try live feeder of appropriate size. Set up sounds ok. I got Dot my little 7 week old to eat by starting her on a live fuzzy mouse. Now she is up to rat fuzzies and eats like clockwork every 4 days. I tried feeding her 2 days after I got her with that fuzzy mouse and that did the trick. She just shed and had some stuck on her head so I had to soak her and help her finish her shed which scared her at first, then she actually liked it and took a huge poop in her soaking dish. About 3 fuzzy mice and 2 fuzzy rat worth of poop Just give yours about 3-4 more days to settle in and then try again but like I said try a live hopper mouse or fuzzy rat.

I agree with what (s)he said. Mine wouldn't eat until I provided a live rat, then I was able to make the switch to frozen/thawed. Everything else sounds good though!

I might also mention that the prey item might be too small. I offered pray that was too small and he didn't like it not one bit. Instead of offering a few pinkies, go with a rat pup. The breeder had my little guy eating a rat pup from week 2. Or try fuzzies.

That snake can easily take rat pups, so up the size, and if need be offer live..
