I have never heard of a BP doing this before. Saturday before last on feeding day nugget was on the warm side coiled in his silk vines. When i dangled his food by the ground under the vines he slid down to about 4 inches from the ground, struck, then let himself flop down with the rat pup in his coils. He then proceeded to eat. One week later, this past Saturday, i found him in his vines again, just watching, but this time he was about a foot off the ground, i got his food nice and warm and dry and went to dangle it close to the ground , but before i even got it near him, he struck, pulled it into the vines and constricted right up in the vines, he then proceeded to unhinge and swallow by the time he had half the rat pup down he had slowly slid down the vine to the floor of the viv. like the week before he went right into his warm hide to digest for the next 48 hrs. Isn't this vine thing a little strange for a BP or is he so comfortable with his home he'll eat anywhere. I have been feeding him in his viv, and so he doesn't accidentlly eat the cypress mulch i defrost in a plastic bag then dry it with a hair dryer. Is it ok to let him do this or should i take him down before i offer him his meal. He is my first BP, and i only have him a month. He is only 5 mos old.
