    Question Pairing opinions......

Looking for some opinions on what we should pair a 2012 virgin Pied PH Hypo to.....

It would be nice to see if she proves out as a Hypo, but Lightning Pieds are in our cross hairs

One of our other goals is to produce some Mojave Pieds. This makes our decision very tough with the males we have.

1.0 Mojave Hypo (maybe produce some Mojave Het Pieds as well as see if our Pied proves out to be Hypo). Double Hets either way

1.0 Axanthic Pinstripe- DH project and gives us a start on the Lightning Pieds with Pinstripe added in the mix from the start if we hit any Pins.

We do have one other possibility to work towards Mojave Pieds. 2012 virgin Mojave paired to our 1.0 Enchi Pied.

Just putting this in writing it is looking like the pairing is starting to lean towards making Lightning Pieds...

I would do the hypo Mojave. I really love hypo pied projects and if she was to prove out het hypo you could get some nice hypo mojave het pied babies put a son back to the mom and get a hypo Mojave pied next season if everything worked out. Of course there's a lot of hoping and praying along the line but that's the course I would personally take

Personally, I would use the hypo mojave, but I'm not an axanthic fan. Either pair will give you at least double hets. As usual, I guess it comes down to what you want.

Tough one I am a fan of both hypo pied and lighting pied which is why I work on both, but I guess I would go with Axanthic Pin first.

Mojave Hypo. I really like both Hypo Pieds and Lighting Pieds, but I would take a shot at proving out the possible het Hypo before she's been paired with anything else. That's what I did 3 seasons ago, and my female Pied proved to be het for Hypo. Maybe yours will too.

I agree with this. It would be nice if you can prove out the Hypo because it could open up other options (pairing selections) in the future. Also, if she does prove out, then when you do pair the Ax Pin you know there is a possibility the offspring could be 50% het Hypo, which I think is always a nice bonus. The person gets the known genes which is what they want, but then there is still a 50/50 shot of getting something extra. Kind of like a free scratcher ticket. Best of luck whatever you decide.

i'd go for axanthic... but proving her out wouldnt be a bad idea, with the axanthic project though, you'd have very thrilling moments opening up your future clutches in the years to come. i guess i'm just a fan for axanthic.

I guess it just comes down to whether you like Axanthic or Hypo better. Personally I would go Axanthic.

    Great opinions from everyone!!

I guess it comes down to what project we would like to get started on the most. I think at this point Lightning Pieds are in our sights before Hypo Pieds.

We have in our pocket a 1.2 trio of DH Hypo Clowns. It would sure be nice to try and prove her out in 2016 as a Hypo if we hit on that combo next season.

Can we say triple Het Hypo Clown Pieds, and maybe Hypo DH Clown Pieds if she proves out as a Hypo
