Hello everyone!
I was wondering if any of you who live in colder areas have any tips for keeping your Balls warm during the winter? I live in the woods of Vermont and basically whatever the citys get, I get about 15 degrees below that. My apartment is all hard wood and tile and has pretty poor circulation. The main heating unit is a gas powered one fixed to the wall in the living room. This single unit is the entire apartments heat source. I run a space heater in my room whenever I'm home and that typically keeps the snake tank around 80-85 degrees. However when I leave for work I turn it off for safety's sake and often when I come home their thermometers read in the 60s, 70s if I'm lucky..
The next item on my upgrade list are RHPs, but that also involves upgrading to a better thermostat and all-in-all is a several hundred dollar upgrade. Does anybody have any tips for keeping things warm in colder areas? Perhaps maybe a space heater that is safe to leave on unattended while I'm at work? The one I use now looks like an old school furnace and I do not trust it on all day without me here...
Currently I have 2 snakes in a divided T8 kept warm by heat tape and the fluorescent lights (which do surprisingly add close to 5 degrees)
Thanks for any and all suggestions!
