    Missing scales

My new baby albino has what looks like a few missing scales. In picture on right side low down near belly. Any ideas what it may be?

    Re: Missing scales

    Hi,

I don't see anything to worry about there - though it may be about to shed looking at the last picture.

And I hear you on the snake pee.

I have about 15 to probe to determine sex at some point and will probably be squelching towards the shower afterwards.

I see one or two places where there might be missing scales but it's nothing to worry about. It could be that it never grew a scale there and you just never noticed before. It's also possible that it could have been pulled out in which case it'll likely grow back unless it's been pulled out by the root (kind of like human fingernails). I did have a corn snake one time that a friends daughter was handling. The snake crawled into a belt loop and instead of letting it go all the way through she pulled it out backwards which caused some scales to get pulled off. I noticed that one of the scales had a bit of blood on the end where it was pulled out. The wound healed fine but it never grew a scale there again, the other scales came back fine.

Ok I'm not going to panic about it. She's eating and healthy so I'm sure it will be ok. Thank you everyone
